Case Studies
In a time of rapid technological advancement, the composites sector has already seen considerable growth. However, numerous opportunities for further innovation remain across various industries. Carbon fiber composites, a type of non-metallic material, have emerged as a leading alternative for repairing and reinforcing existing structures. Their potential for lower lifecycle costs and enhanced corrosion resistance has spurred global adoption in multiple fields. Carbon fiber composites offer practical advantages and cost savings through quicker installation, corrosion resistance, and reduced maintenance and operational expenses. Their exceptional performance in demanding environments continues to drive innovations in the composites industry.

Oil and gas industries
A 823mm defective section of pipeline caused by internal corrosion. Operating pressure was 5 Bar with operating temperature of 25°C. Pipeline was repaired in South Africa.
Water Infrastructure
Numerous through wall defects located in the lower 12 inches on a 144” diameter water infrastructure. The largest hole being 0.5" in diameter. There were several clusters of multiple pinholes. The 12" water tank was repaired with the operating pressure of 20 psi and the operating temperature of 32°C. the water tank was repaired in Florida, United States.
Chemical Plant
A hole of 3" in diameter and the edges around the defect were thinning on an acid gas line. The 48" flare line tee was repaired with operating pressure of 4 psi and operating temperature of 201.8°C. The repair was done in Canada.
Refinery Industrial
A leak through a 1mm hole on the welded flange connection of the pipeline system. Using patch and strap, this would enable to stop the leak and performed a repair to rebuild the wall thickness of the elbow piping. A strongback restraint system were manufactured to restrain the elbow piping together with the complete assembled flange. A 14" pipe wrap with strongback was repaired with operating pressure of 1.1 bar and the operating temperature of 160°C. The repair was done in Kazakhstan.
Nickel-Cobalt Operations
Murrin Murrin Mining operations, Leonora, Western Australia.
Wall thickness on the 80mm Hydrogen Pipe line was compromised by the harsh corrosive environment. The Engineered solution, applied a 4-layer REVOWRAP Carbonweave to the compromised pipe, returning the asset back to OEM specifications, Pressure requirements 55bar, Pipe Temperature requirements 80dec C, ambient temperatures exceeding 45deg C, Pipe system exposure to corrosive elements.
Chemical Industrial
An acid gas line was found to have a significant wall loss thickness due to internal corrosion. The repair was done with 4 layers of carbon fibre and a High Temperature Composite Wrap on 24" Tee piece, based on the engineered design parameters. The operating pressure was 1 bar and the operating temperature was 50°C. The repair was done in Kazakhstan.
Oil and Gas Industrial
An LPG gas line was found to have hole defects, external corrosion and a crack on the pipeline. The repair was done with 20 layers of carbon fibre on 6" x 2" LPG line. The operating pressure was 10 bar and the operating temperature was -40°C. The repair was done in Kazakhstan.
Oil and Gas Industrial
A pitting corrosion was found on N3 nozzle pipping. A carbon fibre composite laminate repair was applied to provide structural pressure containment as the wall loss experienced by the pipe negated the substrate’s load-carrying capacity. The laminate was applied as a spiral wrap consisting of 4 layers of carbon fibre for a total repair length of 380 mm. The operating pressure was 0.2 bar and the operating temperature was 15.5°C. The repair was done in Singapore.
CSBP
Treatment of a 250mm MDEA Pipe system an CSBP Pert Western Australia. To correct the extreme corrosion on the exposed pipe and return the pipe back to OEM specification.
